WebCT Assignments tool Tutorial


Type your assignments using a word processing program and save as files. If you are using a word processing program other than Microsoft Word, then please save your files as Rich Text Format.

Note: Please make note of where the file is saved on your local computer so you may locate it for Step 3 below.

Step 1. Click Assignments icon from Course Tools.

A list of assignments for the course will appear. The Inbox is the first tab and displays Assignments that you have not yet been submitted.

Note: The default setting displays only 10 Assignments per page. Please use the icons in the lower right corner of the Assignments list page to display more Assignments.

Use the Next Page icon to advance to the next page to see additional assignments. You may also use the Paging Preferences icon to set the Number of Records per page from the default value of 10 to a larger number to ensure that you see a complete Assignments list.

Step 2. Locate the assignment and click its title.

The Edit Submission window appears.

 

Step 3. Click button.

The Get Files window appears.

 

To attach a file:

a. Click the My Computer icon.

b. Locate and double-click on your assignment file. (The file is attached.)

Note: If the assignment requires multiple files, you may repeat Steps 3a and 3b to attach additional files.

Step 4. Enter a text comment to your instructor for your assignment in the Add Comment: text box.

(For example, You may enter text such as, "Please see file attachment for Written Assignment 1")

Step 5. Click .

A confirmation message appears.

Click OK.

A confirmation message appears showing the date and time of your submission.

Click OK. (Your assignment is submitted and moved to the Submitted tab.)

Note: The Inbox tab displays Assignments that have not yet been submitted, while the Submitted tab displays assignments that you have completed and submitted to the instructor. The Graded tab displays assignments that have been graded by the instructor.
